Renewal Universities Workshop: “Systematic Development and Institutionalization of Renewal University Programs”
In cooperation with Akdeniz University, which is the founder of the 60+ Refreshment Universities Project in our country and transferred the project rights to the Ministry of Family and Social Services, and the General Directorate of Disabled and Elderly Services, the "Workshop on the Systematization and Institutionalization of the Refreshment Universities Programs" was held on 20/21 November 2024 at Akdeniz University Faculty of Health Sciences Seminar Hall (Gerontology Building) with the participation of the General Directorate of Disabled and Elderly Services of the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the representatives of the Refreshment Universities. Dr. Yasin AKAR, General Director of Disabled and Elderly Services, and relevant personnel from the Department of Participation in Social and Economic Life, as well as 33 academicians from 22 Refreshment Universities, participated.
EYHGM General Director Dr. Yasin AKAR In the opening speech of the workshop; Stating that the elderly population continues to increase in our country, he stated that the Ministry carries out many studies in this direction, such as home care, day services, active aging and participation in social life, as well as institutional care services for the elderly. In this context, they stated that they attach great importance to Refreshment Universities, which is a supportive and innovative practice in active aging, participation in social life and lifelong learning, and continue to spread them across the country, including Dr. Refreshment University, including Aslı Gözde AKIŞ, presented Certificates of Appreciation on behalf of the Ministry to the university representatives who carried out its studies.
