60+ Refreshment University and Intergenerational Meeting: First Inspiration for Aspiring Gerontologists
25 September 2025
First-year students from the 60+ Refreshment University met with first-year students from the Gerontology Department, creating a powerful and meaningful example of intergenerational interaction. Thanks to the life experiences, knowledge, and active participation of the Refreshment University students, the meeting was centered on mutual learning, sharing, and understanding.
This meeting highlighted the Refreshment University's vision of supporting active aging, lifelong learning, and social participation, while also providing Gerontology Department students with the opportunity to directly interact with older individuals, the core subjects of their profession. The sharing of experiences by the 60+ Refreshment University students transformed the event from a simple get-together into a powerful educational and awareness-raising environment.
In this way, Gerontology Department students, in their very first year of academic journey, took their first and most meaningful steps towards becoming "gerontologists," aiming to improve the quality of life for older individuals, raise social awareness, and touch human lives with scientific knowledge. The contributions and guidance of the 60+ Refreshment University students were central to this process.
