Generations from 7 to 70 came together at BAUN (Balıkesir University) to celebrate Respect for the Elderly Week with enthusiasm.

In collaboration with the Department of Gerontology at Balıkesir University's Faculty of Health Sciences and the 60+ Renewal University Balıkesir Campus, events were organized under the theme "Generations Meet" to celebrate Respect for the Elderly Week.
The events, held at the Malazgirt Conference Hall of the Balıkesir Atatürk Congress and Culture Center, were attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sibel Ergün, the Coordinator of the 60+ Renewal University, Dr. Aslı Gözde Akış, the General Secretary Yemliha Yanar, academic and administrative staff, and students.
The event began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. Opening speeches were given by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sibel Ergün, and the Coordinator of the 60+ Renewal University, Dr. Aslı Gözde Akış.
As part of the event, a theatrical performance was staged by the Balıkesir Karesi Middle School Theater Group, and brain exercises were conducted with the students. At the event, Balıkesir University Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation students came together with students from the "Renewal University" (60 years and older) to perform joint exercises.

Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, accompanied by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt, Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, and General Secretary Yemliha Yanar, visited the event area.
He expressed his pleasure at hosting a meaningful event that strengthens social ties by increasing intergenerational solidarity and communication. Thanking everyone involved in the event that brought different generations together, Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu stated that they will continue to work together to build a stronger, healthier society.
